Welcome to “A Personal Journey: Mark’s Blog”! You might be wondering what this page is all about. Well, it’s exactly what it says – a personal journey. As my family and I step out into this uncertain journey, we so desire for you to come along with us. We want you to experience what we experience on this journey. We want you to feel what we feel as we take each step. You may not be able to experience the sights, sounds, smells, tastes, and touches, but more importantly you can experience the feelings, thoughts, interests, and concerns as we walk this uncertain path. So, that’s what this page is all about. It’s about inviting you to join our journey. We want to be real with God our Maker, and with you, our friends. This is not only about our crossing over and into Ireland, but more than that, it’s about experiencing our journey as we follow Jesus everyday, or at least try to. Jesus is going to use this missionary (I really don’t like that word…it’s lost its’ meaning) journey to draw me and my family into a deeper intimacy with Him. That’s really the true journey – intimacy with Jesus. It’s a process, a course, a passage. Following Jesus truly is an undertaking, a journey. So, to help you walk the journey with us I’ll be sharing experiences not only about Ireland, but about my times and thoughts with Jesus as He draws me into this journey of intimacy. You will be experiencing my times with God, our interactions with people, family, frustrations, joys, heartaches, thrills, struggles, excitement, pain, questions, interests, doubts, certainties, and freedoms. We want to tread this path with you. We need you to walk alongside us. To be honest, I’m not sure what you can expect from this page. I guess you can expect me to be honest, to be real, to grip my God through it all. I’m sure some of what you read and experience may feel uncomfortable. That’s ok. I’m just as uncomfortable writing it. There will be opportunities for you to journal back a response from the Personal Journey if you choose to. We want to hear from you. We will need to hear from you if we’re going to endure this pathway. This is also a way for us to hold hands with you on the path. You see, we’re scared. O yeah, we’re excited, but scared. We’ve never done this before. This is a whole new path for us. So, if you don’t mind, we’d really like it if we could hold your hands as we walk this journey. Well, this is a much longer introduction and invitation then what I had anticipated. Are you ready? I’m not even sure I am. I’ve never done this before. I’ve never taken this kind of journey. It’s scary and exciting at the same time. Well, here we go. Make sure those hands are held tight. OK. Thanks.
